The Party

The formal delivery of the vessel may have been anti-climactic, but the ceremonial changeover and flag ceremony was anything but.  With 1,500 guests and the ship cleaned and dressed, OASIS OF THE SEAS really came alive

Life is good

This morning we took delivery of Oasis of the Seas in a simple ceremony in the yard’s main conference room.

Magic

Today, I have fluctuated between exhaustion and exhilaration. . . . and exhilaration won.

It Lives

Tonight, the OASIS OF THE SEAS came alive and welcomed her first guests.

Other Activities

– The crew are all smiling. [...]

Thoughts from Turku

– It is more pleasant to take delivery in the summer than the winter;
– Seeing so many familiar crew members felt wonderful;
– Harri was smiling which means all is well [...]

Almost There

We’re down to the last 100 hours or so and the pace of activity is frenetic. I am about to start my packing and leave in a few hours for my inspection tour starting early Sunday morning in Turku.
